Fisherman’s Story (2012)

Fisherman’s Story (2012) is a narrative-based composition for percussion and live lighting. Through structural and qualitative correspondences, the piece uses the intermedia space to trace the developmental arc of an old fisherman’s tale of life and adventure on the open sea. The instrumentation calls for marimba, vibraphone (bowed and played with mallets), orchestra bells, bass drum with brush, roto-toms, china cymbal (bowed and struck), and coins.
