Tortures (2015)
Tortures examines the reach of the internal towards and in response to the external. Compiling the text of Wislawa Szymborska's poem with the human form in, out and relating to surface, sound, narrative and projection, the piece examines intersections of corporeal and digital body-as-form with the impossible reach to synthesis . Moving towards the porous threshold of skin, the audio and visual worlds as obstruction and abstracted also become aggressor, victim and co-conspirator to form, raising questions of primary source in a liminal space.
